Sapelo Hammock golf and visit to Darien

Went down this weekend to the Georgia coast and played golf at Sapelo Hammock near the fishing village of Shellman Bluff. Mark and I had a great time and the course is beautiful. We also visited friends who live on the Sapelo River and had some of the best shrimp I've ever eaten. The pix are me, then Mark(he shot a 77), Mark in someone's backyard(he made a par), bird at Harris Neck refuge, and alligator purse in pre-made condition.

Preparing an actor for Last Bullet

Jason and Matt played paintball recently. Matt will be the main character in a short film called Last Bullet that Tin Roof Films will be shooting in October. The character he plays is injured and in a Vietnam foxhole with the enemy near. Therefore, the paintball game is one way to elicit a very scaled down version of the adrenaline rush that soldiers in peril experienced. Jason will direct the film; he's on the left.

Rev War Coin

A few weeks ago, Allen and I were down near Savannah artifact hunting. I found a few good things but this coin was nifty. It is a British copper penny with the date of 1739. That is King George on one side and the date on the other.

Bird Feeder?

You may not believe this but I looked outside a few mornings ago and there was a bird inside the feeder. Yes, INSIDE! You have to look carefully but you can see the nuthatch in there. I had to pour out the feed to get him out. Must have been hungry, but geesh.

Blood Mountain, Georgia.

Diane and I went hiking to the top of Blood Mountain on the Appalachian trail. Someone told us it was not that bad of a climb so off we went from the parking lot below. It's only a 2.4 mile trek we were told and besides, "you guys look like you're in shape" said the man at the store straddling the trail. Luckily I bought one, yes one, bottle of water. An hour and a half later, we stumbled to the top, my legs burning, my throat parched, my lungs straining. It's been a month and I am still recovering. The view was stunning, thank goodness. For a moment, I was wondering if I had died on the trail and was in heaven. We survived to crawl again, however.

On movie set in Atlanta

This is Jason, a director friend of ours, working with Savi, another director, on Paula Peril. We were downtown Atlanta in an art gallery. It was fun to see how the process works. The story is a comic book one that is being turned into a series for TV and/or the internet.
